Weekly Service Agreement
Apex Pool Service Weekly Maintenance AgreementThis service agreement is meant to outline the responsibility of Apex Pool Service and the responsibility of the customer. This agreement may be cancelled by either party 24 hours before the next service. Responsibility of Apex Pool ServiceApex agrees to provide weekly cleaning of the pool. This service is to include:
TESTING OF THE POOL WATER
Chlorine levels, PH level and Total Alkalinity are tested and adjusted weekly. For salt generating systems, the salt level will be tested and added as needed. Calcium hardness and stabilizer will be tested as needed.Other factors such as rain, the use of pesticides or fertilizers, pollution, the use of suntan oils, spills of cleaners or other household products added to the pool accidently or intentionally can dramatically change these levels causing problems. In a plaster pool the application of the plaster affects the long term appearance and stability. Pool plaster will degrade over time, discolored areas, pitting and other problems are inevitable. The proper application of the plaster, brushing the plaster twice a day for the first two weeks after application, and the maintenance of the chemical levels of the water can mitigate these problems but not eliminate them. The average life span of pool plaster is 5 to 8 years.Colored plaster especially will change color over time. An uneven pattern of color, sometimes referred to as mottling will occur, usually the builder will warn the customer of this. By testing and adjusting the chemicals weekly, Apex Pools will be able to slow down the degradation of the plaster, but not eliminate it.Apex WILL NOT assume any responsibility for the condition of the pool surface or equipment. The water will be tested and adjusted to A.P.S.P. standards.
Physical cleaning of the pool
Each week the surface will be skimmed, walls will be brushed where needed, skimmer baskets will be emptied, pump basket will be emptied and the cleaner bag or basket will be emptied. The bottom of the pool will be vacuumed when needed and tile will be cleaned each week. This does not mean that all calcium deposits will be removed. In some cases, the calcium can be removed, in other cases, such as flagstone tile line, or in cases of severe buildup, it may be impossible to remove all the calcium by normal cleaning. There may be other methods to accomplish this, such as bead or soda blasting. Call us if you are interested in these other methods.
equipment maintenance
The equipment will be inspected weekly. Any problems found will be noted and reported to the customer. Minor problems will be repaired on the regular service day. (See repair section below.)FILTERSD.E. filters will be backwashed once a month, or when the pressure rises 5psi above normal. Once a year they must be taken apart and cleaned, this is a separate service charge.Cartridge FiltersCartridge filters are not backwashed, they must be opened and cleaned when the pressure rises 5psi above normal. This usually is required once a year, but may be needed more often, depending on the size of the filter and the amount of debris that enters the pool. Cleaning the cartridge filter is a separate service charge. On an average of every three years, the cartridge elements must be replaced. This life span also depends on the size of the filter and the amount of debris entering the pool.Sand filtersSand filters will be backwashed every other week. Every 5 to 7 years the sand needs to be changed, this is a separate service charge.
POOL RX
Every spring/summer we install the POOL RX product on all of the pools we service. (Excluding salt pools). This is a product that eliminates and prevents the algae that consumes chlorine. These are installed in the pump baskets. The 2024 cost for this is $65.00/$75.00 (plus tax) depending on the size of your pool and will be invoiced once it is installed. This is a once a year cost for this product. We will send out a letter and include a notice on the Skimmer reports before we install them.
Repair charges
Service calls are $125.00. This includes the trip charge and up to the first hour. Minor repairs performed on the regular service day may be discounted at the discretion of Apex. Many times a customer can save money by noting a problem and calling before the regular service day. If a part can be ordered and brought out on the regular service day, charges may be reduced.
service days
The customer and Apex will agree on a set day of the week for the pool to be serviced. Please remember to give us access on this day. If an emergency occurs and Apex cannot service the pool on the regular day, it will be serviced the following day, but these instances are rare, we make every effort to come on a consistent basis.
Rain days and holidays
If it is raining on the regular service day, the pool will be rain serviced. This includes emptying the baskets, testing and adjusting the chemicals, and backwashing if needed. The tech will not return until the next weeks scheduled service, and no credit or discount will be given. If the regular service day falls on a holiday the pool will be serviced in the same manner as a rain service. This will be done on the day before or the day after the holiday. The week of Thanksgiving we will holiday service all pools. We will be closed the holiday week of Christmas through the New Year. We do not charge extra when there are 5 services in a month, when pools are extra dirty or high bather loads.
Customer responsibilites
Billing
15th of the month. If payment is not received by the last day of the month a $10.00 late fee will be charged to your account & service could be discontinued. There will be a cleanup charge to resume service. All repair charges are due upon completion of work.
Water levels
It is the customer’s responsibility to maintain the correct water level in the pool. Apex will add water during service as a courtesy only, not as part of our service, we will not “wait around” to fill the pool. The water level especially needs to be correct on pools that have sand or D.E. filters. If the water is low, we cannot add enough to backwash. As this is a courtesy only, Apex takes no responsibility in the event the pool is to low or in the event that the pool is overfilled.
Pool Covers
If you use a pool cover, safety cover, solar cover or leaf cover, it must be removed prior to the regular service day and reinstalled by the customer. Due to liability issues and time constraints, Apex will not remove or replace a cover.
Dogs
Apex is a very dog friendly company. We don’t mind friendly dogs in the yard with us. However, if you leave your dog in the yard on the regular service day, you assume all responsibility. If there are dogs in the yard we bring dog treats. If your dog should not be given treats, please let us know.
It's still your pool
Although the goal of having a pool service is not having to maintain it yourself, it’s still your pool. You should check it periodically. Check the water level. Listen for strange sounds. Look for normal circulation. If you note a problem, please contact us. Sometimes a small problem can be corrected before it becomes a major problem.
We thank you for your business and look forward to a long and enjoyable relationship.
We are now using an app instead of door hangers when servicing a pool. The technician will enter the chemical readings, filter pressure, etc. They will then enter the chemicals added, and what tasks were performed. Once they complete the checklist, an email will be sent directly to the customer. You get a real time update wherever you check your email.New service for our weekly customers! We are now tracking all our service vehicles in real time with GPS. If you have any questions about when we serviced your pool, you can call our office and inquire. This will also help us route our technicians to emergency calls.
